Around-the-clock care in the comfort of home is a wonderful alternative to a long-term care facility. Nothing beats the security of a full-time caregiver who maintains routine, attends to immediate needs, monitors safety, prevents wandering, prepares meals, and provides a level of meaningful companionship that enhances cognitive abilities and alleviates boredom and depression.
Life “as is”
With complete one-on-one care and attention, clients who have live-in care continue their lives “as is” with familiar meals, schedules, and routines. If clients have hobbies they enjoy, neighbors who visit, or organizations they attend, our live-in caregivers help them continue these activities or encourage new ones that better match their current abilities.
While some families use our live-in services 24/7, others need us only for weekends or 5 days a week, for example — enough to give family caregivers a much-needed break. Our live-in caregivers don’t move in. Instead, those who use our services for 7 days will have 2 or 3 caregivers who rotate every 3 or 4 days. These live-in caregivers provide their own food and take their belongings home with them when their shift is over.
While every clients’ needs are unique, here is a sample of how our live-in caregivers help:
- Companionship, games, and conversation (often the most important benefit of live-in care)
- Assistance with medication reminders, personal care, and mobility
- Meal planning, preparation, feeding, and clean-up
- Housekeeping and laundry
- Transportation and outings
- Physical activity
- Mental stimulation
- Coordination of home maintenance services
- AND MORE
On the rise
Our company has seen a tremendous increase in live-in care, as those who have worked hard and saved well realize they can have their wish come true by staying in their own home for a lifetime.
