Columbus, OH, home care agencies believe that seniors are really only as old as they feel. If you don’t believe us, check out the following five seniors. Even after entering retirement age, these folks are still quite young at heart.
1. Gloria Strucks
Gloria Strucks sat on her first motorcycle in 1941 and continues to spend time on the road at the ripe age of 89. She even made an appearance in the film, I Am Sturgis, which highlights her experience on motorbikes. She participates in motorcycle rallies around the U.S. and plans to continue riding until she’s 100 years old.
2. Paul Kiell
Eighty-five-year-old Paul Keil refuses to live a sedentary lifestyle and spends his time in the water swimming annual marathons in the cold and choppy waters of Manhattan, NY. He enjoys taking a dip in the Hudson and East rivers and is the oldest swimmer in most of the marathons that he participates in.
3. Don Addington
Avid golfer Don Addington refuses to let age stop him from spending time on the golf course when he participates in senior golf tournaments in Houston, TX. The 85-year-old golfer instead chooses to play in more competitive divisions for younger age groups and has tied with other players who are 20 years younger.
4. Paddy Jones
Paddy Jones made a lasting impression when she appeared on America’s Got Talent by showing off her dance moves at the age of 80. She first began taking flamenco lessons after her husband passed away and landed a partner, Nico, who is 40 years younger than her.
5. Fauja Singh
As the world’s oldest marathon runner, Fauja Singh began running at the age of 89 as a way to stay active and overcome depression. He ran his last race at the age of 101 in China and decided to retire from the sport soon after. The Indian-born runner has broken many world records but hasn’t been recognized by the Guinness World Records because he doesn’t have a birth certificate.
